Jeremiah 1:4-8 The Lord gave me a message. He said “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my spokesman to the world.”

“O, Sovereign Lord, “I said, “I can’t speak for you! I’m too young!”

“Don’t say that,” the Lord replied, “for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and take care of you. I, the Lord, have spoken!”

Perry spoke of this scripture Sunday and it really stuck out to me. Notice all the I’s. Cool hu? We will all experience doubt in ministry. I have many days where I’m baffled that God would use me in ministry in any way, much less in equipping thousands of people to serve. This scripture screams “have confidence in me, my child”.  When doubt of worthiness creeps in your head remember that “I will be with you and take care of you.” As you think that you are not really doing anything by cleaning the windows, greeting, rocking babies remember that “I formed you” and “I set you apart and appointed you as my spokesman to the world.” There is not just one way to speak to the world. As you say I can’t, remember that Jesus said “Don’t say that.”

Don’t take “I” so lightly. We are all His great masterpieces. We were not created to collect dust. We were created to make the name of Jesus famous. Have confidence.
